The return of Princess Amy Graphic novel cover. A princess in a large hat doing magic from a magic tome

Title: The Return of Princess Amy

Author: Tapas Entertainment & Hotread Comics & Yingzhiwenhua

Genre: Fantasy

Graphic Novel

Rating: 3/5 stars

Two girls were born during the year a prophecy foretold of a child being born that would lead the empire back to glory. Amy competed with her sister Aurora for the title until Aurora convinced everyone she was a witch and had her burned at the stake. She then traveled back in time to her childhood, instead of dying, and got a second chance at doing things right the second time around.

I was... disappointed in this story. Partly because it started off so well. I was really into it at the beginning and read through about the first half of the book addicted to the story. But then... something happened. I'm honestly not sure what it was, if the author of the story changed, or the author got bored of the story, or if Tapas just pushed to have a longer story so they dragged it on, but it dragged. Until the last couple episodes, which just flashed by and it was a little confusing, haha.

At the end, Amy did some kind of stupid stuff, and also, the competitions were a little flaky and superficial feeling, as well as somewhat predictable. Also, the father in the story felt rather toxic and I didn't care for him, but that didn't really seem to be addressed in the story. I probably wouldn't have finished if I hadn't already paid to unlock the rest of the story. I liked that the protagonist was a strong female lead, as I'm a sucker for that. She was skilled at magic and learned to defend herself. The art was pretty, and like I said, I truly enjoyed the beginning of the story, but I wouldn't really recommend this story overall.

Clean Read?

There was some violence/gore, magic, and posession as well as evil.

We'd all like some second chances in our life, right?

Do you like reincarnation or turn back time stories? What's your favorite one?

Enjoy your next adventure,
