Title: Drakkon
Author: Mama Fatemi & yillen & Entertainment
Genre: Fantasy, Romance
Graphic Novel
Rating: 3/5 stars
This story is about a man, Drakkon, who becomes emperor by force and has citizen women gathered for him to pick a bride. The female lead, Daiyu, is chosen as the bride and the story follows her through her journey from commoner to empress.
I gave this story three stars because I didn't really enjoy the content of the story. While the art was quite beautiful, I just was not into the romance. He was more predatory and she was depicted as a type of prey. While Daiyu did embrace the role and push past her discomfort to fulfill her duties, I didn't like the emperor. I just couldn't get into the romance at all. I was rooting for it to fail, which sort of ruined the story for me.
It could be a taste preference, as I personally prefer strong female leads... and non-toxic men.
Clean Read?
This was a pretty clean read, with minor sexually suggestive content and violence .
Do you enjoy romance with strong female leads or meek female leads that prioritize kindness?
Enjoy your next adventure,
